Age Requirements

16

Learner Licence

Drivers can apply for a Class 1 learner licence at age 16.

16 years 6 months

Restricted Licence

Drivers can apply for a restricted licence after holding a learner licence for at least 6 months.

18

Full Licence

Most drivers can apply for a full licence at age 18, or earlier with an approved course.
